IPsphere Forum Welcomes NTT
Fremont, California – 16 October 2007 - The IPsphere Forum today announced that leading Japanese telecommunications provider Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) joined the Forum.
“NTT’s commitment to the evolution of communications services goes beyond just commerce; we also embrace the important role these services will play in the rapidly changing economic and demographic landscape of Japan,” commented Hiromichi Shinohara, Associate Senior Vice President, Executive Director of Information Sharing Laboratory Group of NTT. “NTT believes the technical advantages of next-generation networks are only as good as the social and business benefits they enable. The IPsphere Forum has demonstrated a like-minded vision in its development of a universal framework for the next generation of services that benefits all stakeholders in the value chain - including the individual.”
The addition of NTT brings the expertise and resources of one of the world’s leading providers and innovators of online experiences for both consumers and businesses. NTT also arrives as IPsphere Forum embarks on the next major release of its technical specification, which will focus on multi-stakeholder services featuring content.

Representatives from NTT attended IPsphere Forum’s quarterly plenary meeting hosted by France Telecom in Dinard, France. The next IPsphere Forum member meeting will be hosted by Huawei from 15-17 January 2008, in Shenzhen, China.
